Lowick House

Dog friendly holiday accommodation

There have always been family dogs at Lowick House going back to Lassie, a sheepdog cross Labrador, followed by Great Danes, numerous Flatcoats, Jack Russell terriers and a working Cocker.

The large walled garden is secure and provides the perfect opportunity to let your dog run free, a space where dogs are safe to play and stretch their legs. They can even have a swim in the dammed area of the beck which divides the formal and woodland areas.

There is a hose pipe to wash off dogs when you return from your walks and the utility room adjacent to the kitchen is a perfect place for your pet to dry off.

Lowick House is surrounded by acres of open access common land and fell which is livestock free. You can walk here directly from the house and enjoy fabulous uninterrupted views over the Crake Valley looking north towards the mountains and ‘Coniston Old Man’. You may spot wild roe deer and pheasants, birds of prey and the odd hare if you’re lucky. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity and admire the fields, fells and distant mountains nestling under a vast sky.

The Lake District is renowned for its walks both over the low fells and up into the mountains.

What better base for you and your dog to have the perfect holiday together?

The weather was fantastic and we took the dog for long walks around the entire Lake District. This is a great base from which to explore and relax on our return. Lowick House has evertyhing you could possible need very comfortable, spotlessly clean. We had a great holiday here, thanks Margaret.
